The Crested Butte Conservation Corps (CBCC) is CBMBA’s professional trail and stewardship crew. The CBCC is a program run by the Crested Butte Mountain Bike Association to help us fulfill our mission: to build, maintain, and advocate for sustainable trails, and to steward the landscapes of Crested Butte and beyond.
The CBCC is on the frontlines of managing the impacts of visitors to our backcountry.
Our summer volunteer work days also help us achieve our mission, but in 2017 we realized it just wasn’t enough. The Gunnison Valley was seeing increased visitor numbers every year, and with more people . . . more impacts. More trash. More braided trails. More piles of TP and poo. More driving over wildflowers. CBMBA decided we had to do something to help solve this problem, keep our trails sustainable, and conserve our backcountry. Thus, the CBCC was born!
